A collection of three framed decorative metal plaques featuring etched or printed scenes of historical and local interest in Devon. The group includes a brushed silver-toned metal plate depicting a mid-20th-century view of Plymouth Hoe – Devon, showing period vehicles and the Tinside Lido. A second plaque in dark-patinated silver-toned metal reproduces a 19th-century engraving titled THE HOTELS, THEATRE, & CLOCK TOWER – PLYMOUTH, which includes a reproduced inscription for T. Doidge, Bookseller, Union Street, Plymouth. The third plaque is a brass-toned metal plate portraying a historical view of THE ROYAL ALBERT BRIDGE across the River Tamar. The plaques are presented in wooden frames; the contemporary scene is mounted on a hessian-style backing, while the historical views are set within burgundy velvet-effect mounts with gold-coloured slips.
Condition report:
The top and middle plaques are in good condition with light surface dust. The bottom plaque, depicting the Royal Albert Bridge, exhibits noticeable surface spotting and oxidation across the brass-toned finish. The wooden frames show minor scuffs and general age-related wear to the edges and matting.
