This lot consists of two circular metal trays of differing styles and materials. The first is a copper advertising tray for Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky. The central well is stamped with the brand’s iconic Striding Man logo, depicting the figure in a top hat and tailcoat with a walking cane. The rim features embossed block lettering reading JOHNNIE WALKER. The second item is a large brass tray featuring intricate embossed decoration. The centre is ornamented with six circular floral motifs surrounded by concentric bands of scrolling foliage and wave patterns. The wide, slightly raised rim is decorated with a continuous diamond-hatched or diaper pattern. This style is characteristic of mid-20th-century metalware from the Indian subcontinent or Middle East.
Condition report:
Both trays show signs of age and use. The copper Johnnie Walker tray has a polished appearance with some surface spotting, light scratches, and tarnish concentrated around the embossed details. The brass tray displays a warm patina with some areas of surface oxidation and minor wear to the raised decoration.
