This group of Royal Worcester porcelain cabinet ware is decorated in the Painted Fruit pattern. The collection consists of tea cups, matching saucers, and side plates. Each piece is hand-painted with various fruit studies, including peaches, grapes, apples, cherries, and berries, set against a soft, shaded mossy background. The interiors of the cups and the central wells of the saucers are heavily finished with matte gilding. All pieces feature a fine gilt line to the rims. Several items bear the signatures of known Royal Worcester artists on the decorated surface, including A. Shuck, R. G. Moseley, E. Townsend, F. Higgins, and W. Hale. The pieces are constructed from fine bone porcelain with overglaze hand-painted decoration.
Condition report:
One side plate has a significant chip and loss to the gilded rim. One saucer exhibits a visible hairline crack extending from the rim with associated minor porcelain loss. The remaining pieces appear to be in good overall condition with general light surface wear and minor rubbing to the gilding consistent with age and handling.
