This lot comprises a large assortment of mid-20th-century social history items, ephemera, and toys. The primary component is a collection of vintage postcards contained within a rectangular lithographed tin featuring a scene of cherubs and classical landscapes. The postcard collection includes topographical views such as The Bridge, West Bay, and ethnographic subjects including a black and white card titled A Zulu Mother depicting a woman and child. Additional ephemera includes a stack of coastal architectural views in a protective sleeve, a printed pennant for Alcochete, and a small green flag of Devon (St. Petroc’s Cross). Condition report:
The lithographed tin shows significant surface wear, scratches, and oxidation consistent with age. Postcards generally appear in good vintage condition with some expected corner wear and minor foxing. Game boxes show edge scuffing and some structural wear to corners. The plastic building blocks and viewer show signs of previous use.
