The first is an Art Deco style frameless oval wall mirror featuring a scalloped or piecrust bevelled edge. The mirror plate is secured to a wooden backboard via six metal clips and is fitted with a traditional metal hanging chain to the reverse. The second is a late 19th or early 20th-century style wall mirror set within a deep, oval, dark-stained wooden frame, possibly mahogany or oak. The frame features a continuous carved foliate and scroll border in relief. The central oval mirror plate is finished with a bevelled edge.
Condition report:
The frameless mirror plate shows significant foxing and silvering loss, particularly concentrated around the scalloped edges and appearing as dark spots across the central field; the surface is dusty with signs of age-related wear. The carved wooden frame appears structurally sound with minor surface abrasions and knocks consistent with age; its mirror plate shows surface smudging and dust, along with visible areas of light foxing and silvering deterioration towards the top edge.
