This collection features a varied range of decorative objects, including metalware, woodware and commemorative pieces. A prominent item is a circular polished metal tray with a mirror-like finish, decorated with illustrations of steam locomotives from the Talyllyn Railway, including No. 1 Tal-y-llyn, No. 2 Dolgoch, No. 3 Sir Haydn, No. 4 Edward Thomas and No. 6 Douglas, surrounding a central Welsh plume crest. The lot includes a pair of cast white metal candlesticks, possibly pewter or silver plate, featuring Rococo-style ornamentation with motifs of grapes, vines and acanthus leaves on lobed bases. An ornate silver-tone dish with repoussé floral and foliate patterns is also present. The brassware comprises several etched vases and a bulbous pot, all exhibiting hand-chased floral and scrolling leaf designs characteristic of 20th-century Anglo-Indian work. Novelty items include a large cast brass spider ornament, a Victorian-style brass clip in the form of a lady’s hand with an ornate cuff, a brass hand bell with a figural handle, and a brass bowl supported by a dark-stained wood tripod stand. The collection is completed by a collapsible wooden fruit basket of spiral-cut construction on a cross-frame stand and a novelty corkscrew with a figural handle.
