Buyer's Premium:

This collection comprises an assortment of scouting and guiding memorabilia from the mid-20th century. A primary feature is a large triangular black felt patch with yellow and red embroidery, inscribed CENTENARY B.P. CORROBOREE / ST. IVES N.S.W. 1957, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Lord Baden-Powell’s birth. The textile items also include a circular green-bordered badge depicting a mountain chalet against a blue and white sky. The metalware consists of various enamelled and die-struck pins, including a BBC RADIO CIRCLE PLYMOUTH badge with a rising sun motif, a Swedish scouting pin inscribed VAR REDO featuring a bird and trefoil, and several BP initial badges in blue enamel and brass. Service pins include a bronze-toned circular 10-year badge and two blue enamel bar pins with stylized numerical motifs. Also present are a TREFOIL GUILD bar pin, a G.G.C. brown enamel trefoil pin, a star-shaped badge with a red trefoil centre, and two small white enamel fleur-de-lis pins. Additional pieces include a bronze-toned Cub Scout wolf head pin, an enamelled metal woggle with red, blue, and green detailing, a carved wooden trefoil nameplate incised with the name Audrey, and a rectangular silver-toned napkin ring with decorative openwork.

Condition report:

The collection is in good vintage condition overall. There is observable surface wear and oxidation to the metal components. The embroidered patch shows minor fraying to the edges and light surface dust. The wooden nameplate and silver-toned napkin ring show evidence of age-related wear and minor surface marks.
