The first is an ebonised dress cane featuring a rounded knob handle crafted from a polished natural material, likely bone or ivory, displaying a yellowish aged patina. It includes a white metal collar situated between the handle and the smooth black wooden shaft. Marks are present on the collar but are not clearly legible. The second is a traditional bentwood walking stick with a crook handle, steam-bent from a single piece of dark stained wood such as chestnut or ash. The third is a rustic country thumbstick with a natural forked V-shaped handle. The shaft maintains a natural bark texture and features two decorative braided bands, possibly cord or leather, at the handle joint and mid-shaft.
Condition report:
The items show wear consistent with age and use. The ebonised cane has minor surface scuffs and scratches to the shaft. The bentwood stick shows abrasions to the finish and wear to the end of the crook handle. The rustic thumbstick is in good structural condition with a naturally weathered appearance. No evidence of significant repair or restoration is present.
