This collection comprises an assortment of Matchbox Models of Yesteryear die-cast commercial vehicles. The items are produced by Matchbox International Ltd and feature a variety of historic commercial liveries. The vehicles are constructed from die-cast metal bodies with additional plastic components for details such as wheels, chassis parts, and loads. Each model is presented within its original maroon and gold cardboard window display box. Included in the group are several specific models: a Y-3 1912 Model T Ford Tanker in Castrol Motor Oil livery; two Y-27 1922 Foden Steam Lorries, one in Spillers Cattle, Pig and Poultry Foods livery with a sack load and another in Hovis livery; and two Y-30 1920 Model AC Mack trucks, one in a limited edition Consolidated livery with a canvas-style tilt and another in Acorn Storage Packing Shipping livery. Further models include Ford variants in Rose’s Lime Juice Cordial, Chocolat Tobler, and Lowenbrau liveries, the latter featuring a barrel load. Visible box markings identify the manufacturer as Matchbox and include specific model designations and descriptions.
Condition report:
The models appear to be in excellent, original condition and have remained within their packaging. The original window boxes are complete and generally well-preserved. There is some evidence of light shelf wear, minor creasing to the card corners, and dust accumulation on the plastic windows consistent with age. One box retains a rectangular price or stock sticker.
