A Trio of vintage and antique optical and photographic items. The lot features a pair of Galilean-style field glasses, attributed to Lemaire of Paris, constructed from brass with a heavily worn black japanned finish. The glasses include extending eyepiece tubes and a central focusing adjustment wheel, and are currently secured with a length of off-white cord. Also included is an Elmo movie camera, likely a Super 8 or 8mm model, consisting of a textured metal body and a black plastic contoured pistol grip handle. The maker’s name ELMO is visible on the lens cap and the side of the camera body. The third item is a Canon Epoca 35mm bridge-style film camera with a distinctive cylindrical body and integrated flash unit. The camera bears the manufacturer’s mark Canon and the model name epoca. The lens housing is marked Canon Zoom Lens 35-105mm 1:2.8-6.6 and Auto Zoom Flash GN.25-14m/82-46ft. This camera includes a black synthetic neck strap.
Condition report:
The field glasses exhibit significant cosmetic wear to the black lacquered finish, exposing the brass underneath, with oxidation and patina consistent with age. The Elmo movie camera shows signs of age and surface dust but appears physically complete. The Canon Epoca camera is in good cosmetic condition with some light surface dust. All items are sold as seen and remain untested for mechanical, electronic, or optical functionality.
