This mid-century modern chest of three drawers is from the Fresco range, manufactured by G-Plan (E. Gomme Ltd) in High Wycombe, United Kingdom, circa 1970s. The piece is constructed from teak and teak veneers, featuring book-matched veneers on the drawer fronts that create a symmetrical chevron grain pattern. It is fitted with the signature Fresco style recessed, organic-shaped pulls carved from solid afromosia. The chest is supported by a recessed plinth base. To the interior of one drawer, the chest bears a square red and gold label featuring the G-Plan logo. The drawers are constructed using dovetail joints with light-toned secondary hardwoods.
Condition report:
The chest is in good vintage condition. Minor surface scratches and light wear are visible on the top surface, consistent with age and domestic use. The teak veneers remain in good order with a well-defined grain and no significant loss or lifting. The drawers operate smoothly and the original hardware is intact and secure.
