The auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £5

Buyer's Premium:

A mid-20th-century camel stool, also commonly known as a camel saddle stool, featuring a solid hardwood frame with a warm reddish-brown finish. The stool is constructed with two slab-form end supports joined by a central horizontal stretcher, which is secured by exposed metal bolts and terminated with turned, knob-like finials. The legs are decorated with inlaid brass foliate and vine scrollwork and are finished with brass ferrules at the feet. The curved wooden seat frame incorporates two integrated D-shaped handles and supports a black leather or leatherette button-tufted cushion. This style of furniture was a popular decorative export and souvenir item from the Middle East, North Africa, and India during the mid-to-late 20th century.

Condition report:

The stool is in fair to good condition, consistent with age and use. The upholstery shows surface creasing and some wear around the tufted buttons. The wooden frame has scattered light scuffs and scratches, particularly noticeable on the top surfaces of the handles. There is minor tarnishing and surface oxidation present on the brass inlay and ferrules.
