A collection of contemporary Royal Navy ratings’ uniform items, including a waterproof foul weather parka, a traditional square rig jumper, headgear, and a tropical shirt. The navy blue foul weather parka is constructed from a waterproof and breathable MVP (Moisture Vapour Permeable) fabric, featuring a zip front with a Velcro storm flap, an integrated hood, and a removable ROYAL NAVY breast patch. The Class II navy blue wool jumper (square rig) features a blue jean collar with three rows of white tape, a black silk neckerchief, and a white lanyard. The left sleeve bears a gold-thread embroidered trade or rank badge depicting a single anchor, signifying the rank of Leading Rate. Also included are two white-topped ratings’ caps, one fitted with a black silk cap tally for H.M. SUBMARINES. The set includes two navy blue wool berets, each with a gold-wire embroidered anchor badge, and a white short-sleeved tropical uniform shirt with a pair of ROYAL NAVY embroidered shoulder slides.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in good, service-used condition. The white cap tops show light surface soiling and minor yellowing consistent with age and use. The wool jumper and foul weather jacket show typical signs of wear but no significant tears or damage are evident. The waterproof material of the parka remains intact. All insignia, including the submarine service tally and rank badges, appear correctly applied.
