A substantial collection of approximately forty to fifty hand-painted bird figurines from The Country Bird Collection series, published by Eaglemoss Publications Ltd. The pieces are sculpted by artist Andy Pearce and depict a wide variety of species including a Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Puffin, and various songbirds. Most figurines are presented in naturalistic poses on branch or ground-effect bases, set upon circular dark wood-effect plinths. The lot includes a large stack of corresponding illustrated magazines, including issue 79, The Wood Duck, which remains in its original plastic blister packaging with the associated figurine. The bases of the figurines are marked with circular labels providing the species name in English and French, sculptor attribution, and copyright dates circa 2003.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good condition. One figurine remains in its original unopened retail packaging. There may be minor chips or paint losses to some pieces, typical for a collection of this size and material. Several items have small adhesive inventory stickers on the bases. The accompanying magazines exhibit some signs of handling and storage wear.
