This collection consists of eleven Matchbox Models of Yesteryear model vehicles, constructed from die-cast metal with plastic details and factory-assembled components. Each vehicle is housed in its original red and gold window-style cardboard box. The group features a selection of early 20th-century commercial and passenger vehicles decorated with authentic period advertising liveries. The included models are: Y-5 1927 Talbot Van in Rose’s Lime Juice Cordial livery (cream and green); Y-5 1927 Talbot Van in Wright’s Coal Tar Soap livery (black and yellow); Y-12 1912 Model T Ford in Captain Morgan Rum livery (black); Y-12 1912 Model T Ford in Heinz livery (cream); Y-19 1929 Morris Cowley Van in Michelin livery (blue and yellow); Y-19 1929 Morris Cowley Van in Brasso Metal Polish livery (blue and red sunburst); Y-22 1930 Model A Ford Van in Maggi’s livery (yellow and red); Y-22 1930 Model A Ford Van in Toblerone livery (yellow) featuring a 5 Great Offers promotional sticker; Y-25 1910 Renault Type AG in Credit Delhaize and Co livery (green and cream); Y-28 1907 Unic Taxi finished in red and black; and Y-30 1920 Model AC Mack in Kiwi Boot Polish livery (red and cream).
Condition report:
The models appear to be in excellent, unused condition with paintwork and decals well-preserved. The original cardboard boxes show minor signs of shelf wear and age, including light scuffing to corners and edges. There is a small area of surface paper loss on the top centre of one box where a price label was previously attached. All acetate windows are present and intact.
