Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises two folding pocket knives. The first is an Edwardian penknife featuring two folding blades and sterling silver scales over brass liners. The silver handles have a plain polished finish and are struck with clear British hallmarks. These include the maker’s mark EV for Ebenezer Vaughton and Sons, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the date letter g corresponding to the year 1906. The second knife is a multi-blade folding example with metal handles, likely nickel silver or silver-plated, featuring engine-turned linear decoration and a vacant rectangular cartouche. It is constructed with steel blades and metal liners.
Blade lengths: 4.8 cm and 5.5 cm.

Condition report:

The sterling silver knife is in good condition for its age, showing light surface scratches and minor tarnishing. The hallmarks remain crisp and legible. The blades show darkening and light oxidation. The engine-turned knife is in worn condition, exhibiting significant surface corrosion, rust, and pitting along the internal liners and the edges of the blades.
