Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £5

Estimated price: £5 - £10

Buyer's Premium:

A Victorian rectangular wooden storage box, possibly mahogany, featuring circular mother-of-pearl inlays to the lid and a red fabric-lined interior. The box is accompanied by a collection of miscellaneous sundries. These items include several fragments of embossed sterling silver, with components bearing Birmingham hallmarks including the lion passant and anchor. The silver fragments are in a heavily damaged and crushed state. Further contents include a small hallmarked silver shield-shaped plaque, a multi-blade pocket knife with heavy oxidation, and a metal gimlet featuring a wooden T-handle. The group is completed by a copper-toned band and other small metallic sundries.

Condition report:

The lot is offered in a well-worn, as found condition. The wooden box shows general surface wear, minor paint speckles, and staining to the red interior lining. The silver fragments are significantly crushed and distorted. Both the pocket knife and the metal gimlet exhibit heavy rusting and oxidation.
