A comprehensive collection of traditional woodworking and trade hand tools. The lot includes several metal bench planes, with one plane iron bearing a Stanley sticker and another casting marked Made in England. Also present is a small metal block plane featuring a red-painted lever cap. The collection features multiple wooden-bodied planes, including moulding and bench varieties, stored within a brown canvas tool bag. The set includes at least three hand saws with shaped wooden handles, a bit brace, and a small ball-peen hammer. A grouping of specialised wooden mallets and tapered wooden tools, potentially for caulking or shipwright work, is present. Additional items include a wooden-bodied spirit level, adjustable wrench, pincers, small C-clamps, and various wooden-handled chisels or screwdrivers. The tools are housed in a yellow-painted custom wooden tool chest with a hinged lid, drop-front panel, and internal compartments.
Condition report:
The tools and storage containers are offered in well-used, as found condition. Most metal components exhibit significant surface oxidisation and accumulated workshop grime. Wooden handles and bodies show staining, heavy wear from trade use, and minor splitting or chipping consistent with age. The tool chest shows substantial paint loss, scuffing, and wear to the hinges and latches. The canvas bag is heavily soiled and shows signs of wear. The functional state of the tools and the sharpness of the blades have not been tested.
