A pair of hand-carved hardwood elephant figurines, likely of mid-to-late 20th-century Southeast Asian origin. The figures are crafted from a solid, medium-toned hardwood with a visible grain, characteristic of woods such as suar or monkey pod, and have been finished with a polished lustre. One figure is depicted in a standing posture with its trunk lowered, while the other is shown in a seated or rearing pose with its trunk raised. Both carvings feature stylised incised lines to represent skin folds and decorative detailing on the ears and trunks. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces of either piece.

The figures are in good overall condition with minor surface wear and small scuffs consistent with age and display. There is a build-up of dust in the deeper carved crevices. No significant cracks, chips, or evidence of previous repairs are visible.
