A commemorative numismatic presentation set entitled Strength and Stay: Seven Decades of Devotion, issued by The London Mint Office in 2021 to honour the life and service of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (1921-2021). The collection is housed in a large-format black hardcover presentation folder featuring gold-foil stamped titles and decorative scrollwork. The set comprises a full complement of eight Gibraltar-issued coins, each protected in a clear acrylic capsule and accompanied by its original Certificate of Authenticity. The centerpiece of the collection is a Two Crowns coin struck in 9-carat gold with a Proof finish and layered in pure Fairmined gold. The remaining seven coins are struck in cupro-nickel layered in pure Fairmined gold with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish. These coins are titled: The Father, The Strength and Stay, The Grandfather, The Legacy, A Lifetime of Duty (Half Crown), The Husband, and The Longest-Reigning Consort. The interior of the folder contains several illustrated panels with biographical text and notable quotations.
Gold coin: 26mm diameter, 8g weight.
Cupro-nickel crowns: 38.6mm diameter, 28.28g weight.
Cupro-nickel half crown: 32mm diameter, 14.14g weight.
Condition report:
The presentation folder shows minor signs of shelf wear, including light scuffing to the black exterior surfaces and minor bumping to the corners and edges. The eight coins and their respective Certificates of Authenticity appear in pristine, as-issued condition within their protective capsules.
