A pair of commemorative 22ct gold coins issued by Gibraltar in 2020. Each coin carries a denomination of Quarter Sovereign. The obverse of both coins features a right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRA REGINA GIBRALTAR 2020. The reverse of the first coin depicts a stylized 80th-anniversary design incorporating a Spitfire aircraft and a naval vessel. The reverse of the second coin displays the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom. Both coins are struck to a proof finish with mirrored fields and frosted devices. The coins are presented in individual acrylic magnetic display cases, each with a gold-toned identification plaque, and housed together in a black velvet-lined presentation box.
Condition report:
Both coins are in uncirculated proof condition as issued. The surfaces exhibit high reflective luster with no visible contact marks, hairlines, or toning. The acrylic display cases and the presentation box are in good condition with no significant wear.
