This lot comprises a collection of approximately 25 VHS video cassettes, predominantly featuring 20th-century historical documentaries, alongside a Philips DVD/VCR combination player. The electronic unit is a Philips DVD Video / Video Cassette Player, finished in silver and marked with features including progressive scan, 6 head hi-fi stereo, and NICAM Digital Stereo. The front panel includes a disc tray and tape slot, with control buttons for standby, dubbing, playback, and recording. It is accompanied by a Philips remote control, a SCART lead, and an integrated UK three-pin power cable. The VHS collection includes a significant run of the series A Newsreel History of the Third Reich, with volumes covering the years 1941 through 1945. Other notable historical titles include the BBC series box set 1914-18: The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century, and Leni Riefenstahl documentaries such as Triumph of the Will and Hitler’s Olympia: The Nazi Olympics 1936. Also present are the documentary film Executions, a true crime tape titled True Case Stories: The Ghouls – Gein & Gacy, and the music title Dire Straits: Brothers in Arms – The Video Singles. Condition report:
The VHS cassette cases show signs of typical shelf wear, including scuffing to the plastic sleeves, edge wear to the covers, and some crushing to the cardboard box sets. The Philips combination player shows minor surface dust and light scuffing to the casing consistent with domestic use. The unit and remote control have not been tested for electrical safety or functional operation. All items are sold as seen.
