Start price: £5

Estimated price: £5 - £10

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of promotional advertising toys and figures from several prominent UK marketing campaigns. The lot includes various plush characters from the Compare the Market “Compare the Meerkat” series, notably featuring several “Meerkat Movies” limited edition film crossovers. These include meerkats costumed as Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars with a blue fabric lightsaber, and DC Comics characters Batman and Superman. Other characters in the group include Aleksandr Orlov in a business suit and tie, two Baby Oleg characters wearing insect-print pyjamas, and a meerkat in a black leather-effect biker jacket. The meerkats are constructed from synthetic plush fur with plastic eyes and fabric clothing, some featuring plastic spectacles. Several meerkats retain their original blue cardboard swing tags.

The collection also features a large plush representation of Pascal the Parsnip, an antagonist from the Aldi “Kevin the Carrot” Christmas advertising campaign, featuring an embroidered face and segmented body. Additionally, the lot includes a small tracked robot character identified by a printed label as Stacie from the Confused.com promotional series, constructed from moulded plastic with a brown hairpiece and pink bow.

Condition report:

The items are in good, clean condition and appear to have been used primarily for display. The plush fabric and clothing are well-preserved. Several of the meerkats retain their original cardboard swing tags, which show some light creasing and edge wear. The plastic spectacles on some characters show minor distortion from storage. No original boxes or packaging are present.
