A collection of assorted framed artworks comprising photographic prints, topographical illustrations, botanical studies, and humorous cartoons. The group features a large landscape photographic print titled Twilight Tale by Bob Talbot. Also included is a photographic print of a whale tail by photographer Tom Bean, which includes an inscribed quote by Ted Sherman: He roams the seas in freedom… With no enemies save man. A monochrome topographical print is titled THE TOWN HALL, LEICESTER. The collection further contains a suite of humorous angling-themed cartoons in various frames, including one with a plaque inscribed Rustin Angler. Botanical subjects include a print titled The Polyanthus and Grape Hyacinth Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker, alongside two floral studies in gilt frames and a pressed flower arrangement. An animal portrait of a donkey titled Pollino bears the printed inscription Wels Pinxit – Printed in Spain and the number 436. The artworks are housed in a diverse range of frames, including red, black, and natural wood mouldings, and gilded frames.
Condition report:
The items generally appear in fair decorative condition. There are visible signs of light discoloration and foxing to several of the paper supports. The frames show minor surface wear, scuffing, and dust accumulation consistent with age and handling.
