The lot also features an assortment of tapered round terracotta pots, including one large example decorated with an incised Greek key meander border below the rim. Further terracotta items consist of rectangular troughs and circular drip saucers. Ceramic ware within the lot includes a medium-sized pot with a mottled green and blue glaze and a white ceramic herb planter featuring three side-planting apertures with printed labels for chives and basil. Additionally, the collection contains a vintage-style galvanised metal bucket with side bail handles, a small white crate containing various small glazed pots and saucers, and a roll of green garden twine. The terracotta pieces are traditional earthenware with drainage holes to the bases.
Condition report:
The entire collection is in a heavily weathered condition consistent with long-term outdoor use. There is significant moss and lichen growth on the exterior surfaces of the terracotta items, along with extensive white salt efflorescence and mineral deposits. Scattered minor chips, surface abrasions, and wear are present to the rims and bases throughout the lot. Soil and organic residue remain inside many of the containers. The galvanised bucket shows surface staining and minor oxidation.
