An assortment of four odd chairs comprising a pair of mid-century modern hoop-back dining chairs, a rattan armchair, and a pine kitchen chair. The pair of dining chairs are the Quaker model produced by Ercol, featuring steam-bent hoop backs with six vertical spindles. They are constructed with solid figured elm seats and beech frames, set on tapered splayed legs joined by an H-stretcher. The mid-20th century rattan armchair is of casual bohemian style, featuring a bentwood rattan and bamboo frame with vertical cane spindles forming a fan-shaped back and integrated armrests. The joints are finished with decorative cane bindings. The farmhouse-style kitchen chair is made from solid pine, featuring a shaped top rail over four turned spindles and a solid seat with prominent knots, supported by turned legs and an H-stretcher. No labels or marks were observed during inspection.
Condition report:
Items are in fair condition with signs of heavy use. The Ercol chairs show significant finish loss to the front edges of the seats and numerous scuffs to the legs. The rattan chair shows age-related darkening and wear to the finish on contact points. The pine chair has general surface scratches and scuffs throughout consistent with age and use.
