A Victorian 9 carat yellow gold hinged bangle in the Etruscan Revival style. The front section features a raised, boat-shaped central panel with intricate applied wirework and beaded granulation. This central panel is set with three graduated circular-cut deep red garnets, interspersed with two star-set small clear stones. The decorative borders are finished with further ornate wirework and zig-zag patterns. The bangle is fitted with a push-button tongue clasp and an integrated safety chain. It is presented in a period fitted velvet and silk-lined box. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are clearly visible; the item is identified as 9ct gold on the accompanying tag.
Weight: Approximately 14.4g.
Condition report:
The bangle is in good antique condition with all stones present and secure. The intricate wirework and granulation appear largely intact, with only minor surface wear and light tarnishing consistent with age. The clasp and safety chain are functional. The presentation box shows significant age-related wear, including staining and fraying to the interior silk and velvet, and scuffing to the exterior case.
