This collection includes a pair of carved occasional tables and a pair of slatted stools. The occasional tables are executed in a reproduction Queen Anne style from a stained hardwood. The rectangular tops feature scalloped piecrust edges and a wide border of deeply carved foliate and floral motifs surrounding a plain central oval panel. Each table is supported on four cabriole legs with foliate carving at the knees, terminating in stylized pad feet. The pair of stools is of vernacular construction in stained softwood. They feature rectangular concave tops composed of multiple narrow wooden slats secured to end-caps with visible nails. The stools are raised on four turned baluster-form legs. One slatted stool bears a small white adhesive label to the underside with the handwritten reference E702C.
Condition report:
The collection is in fair used condition with significant signs of wear. All four pieces exhibit surface scratches, abrasions, and water staining to the tops. Significant white paint flecks and splatters are present across the upper surfaces. The finish on the legs of both pairs is worn, particularly towards the feet. The slatted stools show slight separation and unevenness between the wooden slats.
