This early 20th-century chest of drawers is constructed from solid oak, featuring characteristic quarter-sawn medullary ray flecking to the top and side panels. The carcass is designed with recessed rectangular panels to the sides and sits upon a simple plinth base. The drawer configuration consists of two short drawers over three graduated long drawers. Each drawer is assembled with traditional dovetail joints and retains dark-patinated metal drop-bail handles on rectangular backplates with raised stud detailing. Brass escutcheons are fitted to the keyholes, and a single skeleton key is present. The drawers are currently lined with two varieties of floral-patterned contact paper.

Condition report:
The chest displays significant signs of age and functional wear. The top surface shows extensive finish loss, deep scratching, staining, and ring marks. General scuffs, nicks, and areas of thinning finish are present across the carcass and drawer fronts. One handle on the second full-width drawer is slightly misaligned. The floral paper lining is a later addition and shows some wear.
