A pair of contemporary cylindrical planters crafted from glazed earthenware. Each pot features a terracotta-coloured clay body, which is visible on the unglazed interiors. The exterior is decorated with a moulded relief pattern consisting of a diamond lattice or trellis design, bordered by horizontal ribs. They are finished in a thick, off-white or cream-coloured glaze that has been applied with a distressed or antiqued effect, allowing the darker undertones of the clay to highlight the recessed areas of the pattern. Each planter has a flat, broad rim and a single central drainage hole in the base. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the interior bases or exterior walls.
Condition report:
The items are in a used, as-found condition. Both interiors contain significant soil residue, mineral deposits, and organic matter from previous planting. The exterior glazes show typical signs of use including light surface scuffing, minor abrasions to the relief decoration, and small chips (flea bites) around the rims and base edges. No large structural cracks or professional repairs are evident.
