This lot comprises a diverse collection of decorative household items and collectibles. A featured piece is a wooden intarsia wall plaque depicting an adult penguin and chick, handcrafted from various wood tones and grains. The reverse of the plaque is wood-burned with the signature R.E. Thompson and dated 21-7-2008. The assortment includes four model ships: three traditional wooden tall ships mounted on plinths labelled Black Bird, Fregate, and May Flower, and a contemporary-style sailboat featuring a carved wooden hull and wire-work sails. The lot also contains a mantel clock with an oval face marked Quartz and Made in Germany, set within a circular turned wood surround on a pedestal base. Further items include turned woodenware consisting of bowls and a spindle-shaped decorative vase, a five-light metal candelabrum with scrolling arms and ivy leaf motifs in a dark bronze-tone finish, and a black hexagonal wire mesh cylindrical container. Completing the collection is a whiskey stone set in a light wood presentation box, which includes one cut-glass tumbler, a black fabric pouch, and six stone cooling cubes.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good condition, showing signs of light household use and minor storage dust. The wire on the contemporary sailboat shows light surface oxidation, and the metal candelabrum exhibits minor superficial rubbing to the finish. No major chips to the woodwork or cracks to the glassware were observed. The whiskey stone set appears to be unused.
