Buyer's Premium:

An early to mid-20th-century banjo-mandolin, also known as a banjolin. The instrument features a wooden neck with a reddish-brown stain and a dark wood fingerboard appointed with five circular dot inlays. The slotted headstock is fitted with eight geared tuning machines featuring cream-coloured plastic buttons. The body consists of a laminated light wood rim and a natural vellum head, secured by a metal tension hoop and seventeen tension hooks. It is equipped with a metal tailpiece and a wooden bridge. The instrument is housed in a fitted, vintage black textured hard-shell case with a blue plush-lined interior.

Condition report:

The vellum head shows significant mottling and staining. Oxidation and surface tarnishing are present on the metal components, including the tension hoop, hooks, and tailpiece. The wooden surfaces exhibit minor scratches, scuffs, and wear consistent with age. Four strings are currently missing. The accompanying case is in poor condition with significant exterior peeling and structural deterioration, although the interior lining remains largely intact.
