Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a pair of framed modern colour reproduction posters from the East Coast Joys series, originally commissioned by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). The artwork features the minimalist Art Deco style of artist Tom Purvis, characterized by bold, flat areas of colour and simplified forms. The first poster is titled No. 1 WALKING TOURS and depicts two figures in hiking gear looking out over a stylized landscape in shades of red, orange, and teal. The second poster is titled No. 5 SEA FISHING and shows figures in a rowing boat on a deep blue sea with white and pink accents. Both posters bear the printed signature of the artist TOM PURVIS within the image area. The main text on both prints reads EAST COAST JOYS travel by L·N·E·R TO THE DRIER SIDE OF BRITAIN. The lower margins include official copyright and production information from the National Railway Museum, specifically reference numbers NRM. 21/61 and NRM. 21/65. The Sea Fishing poster also carries the credit PRINTED BY E. T. W. DENNIS & SONS LTD., SCARBOROUGH and features the National Railway Museum logo. Both prints are presented in dark wood-effect frames behind glass.

Condition report:

The prints appear to be in very good condition with bright colours and no visible signs of foxing, tearing, or fading. The frames are in good overall condition with some minor surface scuffs and wear consistent with handling. There is a small adhesive label on the top corner of the frame for the Walking Tours poster.
