This collection of 20th-century English ceramics features several distinct services and individual pieces. The Royal Doulton Moonstone pattern (T.C. 1023) translucent china coffee and tea ware comprises a coffee pot, creamer, sugar bowl, cups, and saucers, decorated with vertical blue bands and stylised floral motifs. The bases bear the Royal Doulton circular transfer mark with pattern details and a 1966 copyright. A bone china tea service by Queen Anne includes teacups, saucers, side plates, a creamer, and a sugar bowl, featuring floral sprays on a white ground with pale pink glazed interiors and gilded highlights. Markings show the Queen Anne crown stamp. The Gibsons earthenware set includes a teapot, creamer, and bowl finished in a black glaze with heavy gold lustre Art Deco style decoration, marked Gibsons England and pattern number T290. The group also includes a Johnson Bros Pareek pattern lobed earthenware teapot with floral transfers, an octagonal green glazed teapot with hand-painted floral motifs, and a group of octagonal tea wares decorated with cherries.
Condition report:
The Royal Doulton and Queen Anne services are in good overall condition with only light signs of use. The Johnson Bros Pareek teapot shows significant glaze crazing across the body and lid. The Gibsons black and gold lustre items exhibit noticeable rubbing and wear to the gilded surfaces, particularly on the teapot spout. Other items appear in generally good condition with minimal surface wear consistent with age.
