Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises an Alfa Model 70 electric sewing machine, a Victorian mahogany writing slope, and a bobbin-turned wooden towel rail. The sewing machine is finished in a pale green enamel and displays the maker name ALFA on the arm and ALFA Standard on the stitch-length plate. It is housed in a wooden carrying case with a plaid fabric lining and is accompanied by a foot pedal, power cord, an Alfa Model 70 instruction manual, and an unrelated instruction sheet for a Singer Machine No. 66. The mahogany writing slope features a hinged lid with a shield-shaped mother-of-pearl inlay, opening to a blue velvet-lined interior with gold-tooled borders, a recessed pen tray, and inkwell compartments. The wooden towel rail is designed with five horizontal bars and bobbin-turned supports, currently fitted with modern black plastic castors.

Condition report:

All items exhibit surface scuffs and heavy dust. The sewing machine is untested for electrical or mechanical functionality, and the carrying case shows external wear. The writing slope has significant wear, staining, and losses to the interior velvet lining, alongside general surface scratches to the wood. The towel rail appears structurally compromised with missing components and has been modified with non-original castors.
