Two contemporary British studio pottery platters by Dartington Pottery, featuring the Dragonfly design by ceramic artist Marieka Snell. The lot comprises one square platter and one medium oval platter. Both items are crafted from stoneware and decorated using a tube-lining technique to create a raised, textured outline for the hand-painted motifs. The decoration depicts a large blue and white dragonfly positioned over white water lilies and green lily pads, set against a mottled teal and blue ground.
The square platter is hand-inscribed to the reverse in brown glaze: Dragonfly, Limited Edition, 17/50, Marieka, 2011. It also bears an impressed circular potter’s mark featuring a stylised triangle or letter A emblem. The oval platter is hand-inscribed to the base: Dragonfly, Limited Edition, 31/50, Marieka, 2014, and is fitted with four protective felt pads. Each piece is accompanied by its original Dartington Pottery Certificate of Authenticity, issued on Grayshott Pottery letterhead, confirming the artist attribution and edition numbers.
