A printed reproduction of a graphite and charcoal drawing by the Catalan sculptor Josep Maria Subirachs. The artwork depicts a highly stylised, cubist-influenced representation of Saint Longinus on horseback, serving as a study for the artist’s sculptures on the Passion Façade of the Sagrada Família in Barcelona. The composition utilises sharp geometric lines contrasted with soft tonal blending characteristic of the artist’s work. Signed in the plate upper right: SUBIRACHS 1990, with an adjacent monogram. The print is housed in a contemporary silver-finished wooden frame with a white card mount. The verso retains a descriptive label stating SUBIRACHS. Longí. 1996. Sagrada Família, Barcelona, alongside an Editorial Mediterrània copyright notice dated 1999 and a label for the framing centre, Plymouth.
Condition report:
The print is in excellent condition with no evidence of foxing, toning, or damage. The contemporary frame is in good condition with minor superficial scuffing to the silver finish.
