Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises two framed items of cartographic interest. The first is a reproduction print of the sixteenth-century map of the British Isles known as the Anglia Figura or King Henry VIIIs map, dating originally to circa 1540. The map is rendered in an early modern style with Latin text, featuring a decorative cartouche describing the region and geographic labels including Scotia, Hybernia, and Orcha Insvla. It is housed in a light wood frame under glass, with a framing label for The Picture Framer, Hornsey, on the reverse. The second item is a metallic etched map of the Isle of Man produced by Etchmaster. The plate features a reproduction of the 1595 survey by Thomas Durham, as performed by John Speed in 1610. The design is etched in black on a polished copper-toned metal surface and includes decorative cartouches, nautical illustrations, and compass roses. A makers label for Etchmaster Original, Alresford, Hampshire, is attached to the reverse.

Condition report:

Both items are in good decorative condition. The British Isles print appears clean and free from foxing or damp staining. The frames are structurally sound. The metallic Isle of Man map retains a bright finish without notable oxidation or tarnishing. Both frames show minor signs of handling and shelf wear to the edges.
