Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this 99.99% pure gold commemorative coin was issued to honour the Imperial State Crown. The coin features a proof finish and is part of a limited worldwide mintage of 225 pieces. The obverse depicts four overlapping effigies of Queen Elizabeth II, representing her coinage portraits throughout her reign, with the legend ELIZABETH II D.G. REGINA and the dates 1952 and 2022. The reverse features the Royal Cypher EIIR at the centre of an intricate representation of the Imperial State Crown. The design is encrusted with four natural round brilliant-cut diamonds (total weight 0.40ct, H colour, I-1 clarity), natural emeralds (0.06ct each, AA+ quality), and natural blue sapphires (0.09ct each, AA+ quality). The coin has a reeded edge and remains in its protective clear plastic capsule. It is presented in the original wooden display box with a black velvet interior, accompanied by the main certificate of authenticity numbered 110 of 225 and two supplemental gemstone certificates.
