A diverse collection of costume jewellery brooches, pins, and badges, featuring a wide array of motifs and styles. The assortment includes animal-themed pieces such as a large enamelled dragonfly with articulated-style wings, blue and silver-tone butterflies, a penguin, a bird on a branch, a mouse, and small animal figurines. Floral designs are well-represented by cloisonné and enamelled circular brooches, a thistle brooch with purple paste stones, a simulated pearl floral spray, a circular Mother brooch, and vibrant blue and red rhinestone cluster brooches. Commemorative and regional badges include examples for the NHS, the City of Exeter, a Swing Into Shape fitness campaign, a Welsh flag, and a German school badge for Schule St. Johann. Condition report:
The collection is in overall good vintage condition. The enamel work is generally intact, displaying minor surface scratches consistent with age. Rhinestone settings appear to be complete, although some simulated pearls show minor lustre wear. There is visible oxidation and tarnishing to the metal surfaces of several pieces, particularly the Celtic brooch and the reverse of the enamelled items. The cufflink box shows minor external wear while the interior remains clean.
