A collection of commemorative proof coins and sets produced by The London Mint Office and The Bradford Exchange, marking significant anniversaries of World War I and World War II. The collection features two Gibraltar 2014 One Crown coins from the WWI Centenary Anniversary series, titled By Air and By Sea. These coins are composed of cupro-nickel layered in 24 carat gold with a proof finish. The obverses show the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II QUEEN OF GIBRALTAR 2014, while the reverses depict a Fokker Triplane dogfight and a British battleship during the Battle of Jutland.
Also included is the Words That Won The War VE Day 75th Anniversary collection issued by The Bradford Exchange. This set consists of silver-layered coins from Alderney in Fifty Pence and Five Pound denominations, each featuring typographic portraits of Winston Churchill alongside excerpts from his wartime speeches. A further commemorative coin from the WWII Forces Collection is present, featuring a colorised depiction of a British Infantry Soldier on the obverse and a heraldic reverse design with the Latin inscription MAGNAE BRITANNIAE and shields representing the four nations of the United Kingdom. All items are housed in clear plastic protective capsules and original presentation folders, accompanied by their respective Certificates of Authenticity.
