A vintage table-top bagatelle game board of traditional arched form, dating from the early-to-mid 20th century. The game is constructed from dark-stained wood with a raised outer edge. The playing surface is set with multiple steel pins arranged in circular and linear patterns to act as obstacles. It features seventeen oval brass-toned scoring plaques with black printed numerals: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, 90, 100, 125, 130, and 150. A spring-loaded metal plunger is housed within a wooden launching channel at the bottom right-hand corner. The reverse is plain wood with two red plastic feet attached near the top to provide the necessary incline for play.
Condition report:
The board is in used, vintage condition. The wooden frame and playfield exhibit significant surface wear, including multiple scratches, scuffs, and noticeable areas of staining and discolouration, particularly towards the top arch and centre. Several metal pins are bent or misaligned. The spring-loaded plunger is present but its mechanical function and spring tension have not been tested. The original playing balls are missing.
