A trio of loom furniture, the linen box and ottoman are manufactured by W. Lusty and Sons, a dusty rose-coloured rectangular storage ottoman, and a matching dusty rose-coloured corner laundry basket. The armchair features a rounded back with circular cutouts and a circular woven seat. The rectangular ottoman is fitted with a hinged lid upholstered in a cream-ground floral fabric depicting peonies and bamboo. The corner laundry basket is designed with a pentagonal footprint and a flat-topped hinged lid. The storage pieces retain original metal labels reading LLOYD LOOM, a Lusty product, Trade Mark. Each piece is constructed from woven paper fibre over an internal wire-strengthened frame, characteristic of mid-century British manufacture.
Condition report:
The collection is in a condition consistent with age and domestic use. There are general minor surface scuffs and wear to the white and dusty rose painted finishes throughout. The floral upholstery on the ottoman lid shows light fading and minor staining. Minor fraying is present to the weave edges on the top of the laundry basket. All items are in a dusty condition following storage but remain structurally sound with no major breaks to the woven surfaces.
