This lot comprises an assortment of ten glass paperweights and two miniature lampwork glass figurines, featuring several signed pieces by Caithness Glass, Scotland. The collection includes a variety of glassworking techniques such as controlled bubble, lampwork, and etching.
Included in the lot are three signed Caithness paperweights: a large spherical Pink Champagne paperweight with a deep pink core and tiers of controlled bubbles, etched to the base; a Mooncry spherical paperweight in amethyst glass with internal swirling decoration, etched to the base; and a teardrop-shaped paperweight containing a vibrant red internal spiral, also etched to the base.
The collection further contains a commemorative Engineering Council paperweight in teal glass with a shimmering turquoise base, etched with a coat of arms and text for N.R. Cheesley CEng. Also present is a faceted orange-tinted paperweight containing a preserved seahorse specimen, bearing a temporary identification label R1146C.
Additional paperweights include a spherical example with a single pink lampwork flower and green leaves, a dahlia-style paperweight with a multi-petalled pink flower, and a spherical weight featuring abstract swirls in shades of pink, teal, and white.
The lot is completed by two miniature lampwork figurines: a clear and amber-toned dog with dark eye and nose details, and a clear and amber-toned aquatic bird wearing a white sailor-style hat with a red pom-pom and a yellow beak.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition. There is light surface shelf wear and minor scratching to the bases of the paperweights consistent with age and use. No significant chips, cracks, or deep abrasions are visible.
