Sold for: £10
This lot comprises two pieces of traditional style stained hardwood garden furniture including a slatted bench and a matching low rectangular table. The set is constructed from a dark-stained timber with a slatted design utilised across the bench seat, backrest, and tabletop. The bench features a curved and arched top rail above a central decorative splat with a vase silhouette, flanked by vertical slats and curved armrests. The matching table is of simple rectangular form with square legs and a slatted top. There are no visible manufacturer marks, brandings, or manufacturer labels on either piece.
Condition report:
Both items show significant signs of outdoor weathering and exposure. The dark reddish-brown finish is heavily flaked and worn across the horizontal surfaces, particularly evident on the bench seat (photo 7), armrests (photo 6), and the tabletop (photo 3). Large areas of the underlying hardwood are exposed and have transitioned to a weathered grey colour (photo 8). While structurally sound, the set requires comprehensive sanding and refinishing.
