This lot comprises three decorative items including an Italian glazed ceramic elephant head wall plaque and two woven tapestry panels. The wall-mounted plaque is constructed from ceramic with a high-gloss white glaze, featuring a stylised elephant head with forward-facing tusks and a trunk curled slightly to the left. The reverse of the flat mounting flange carries a small silver-tone rectangular adhesive label reading ITALY in black capital letters. The two square woven panels each depict a central ceremonial elephant with ornate caparisons and headpieces, surrounded by complex geometric and floral borders. One panel is rendered with a cream ground, while the other features a sage-green ground. Both textiles are finished with a multi-coloured fringed border. A length of twine is threaded through a dedicated mounting hole at the top of the ceramic plaque for display purposes.
Condition report:
A small chip is visible on the edge of the ceramic mounting flange (photo 3). Reddish residue and minor surface loss are present along the top rear edge of the ceramic flange (photo 4). The main body, tusks, and trunk of the elephant head appear free of major cracks or repairs. Both woven panels show signs of fraying at the edges with some loose threads visible (photo 5 and photo 6). The central motifs on the textiles remain clear and well-defined.
