A trio of brass and copper toned decorative items comprising a table lamp, a wall mounted bell, and an etched map tray. The table lamp is constructed from brass with a circular base, a bulbous reservoir, and a white milk glass shade with a ruffled and flared rim. The burner assembly features a wick adjustment knob stamped with a circular mark reading 25 Matador. The maritime style bell is cast from brass with a matching wall bracket and a white braided textile rope lanyard attached to the internal clapper. The rectangular tray is made of copper toned metal featuring an etched map of The South Hams district in Devon, showing local roads, landmarks, a Red Devon Bull, and distances from Kingsbridge. An adhesive paper label on the reverse reads MANUFACTURED BY WESTERN WORKSHOPS DERBY ROAD KINGSBRIDGE, S. DEVON TEL: 2558 TLX: 45356.
Condition report:
The brass surfaces of the lamp and bell show moderate to heavy tarnish and surface oxidation throughout (photos 1 and 2). The milk glass shade appears in good condition with no visible cracks or chips (photo 1). The rope lanyard on the bell exhibits minor fraying and discolouration (photo 2). The tray surface displays several surface scratches, scuffs, and localised spots of darkening or oxidation (photos 3 and 4). The manufacturer label on the underside of the tray is intact but shows age related yellowing (photo 5).
