Sold for: £5
A collection of English ceramics comprising various tea wares and ornamental objects. The lot includes ironstone tea wares featuring the Beacon Hill pattern with yellow rose transfers. The base of the saucers carries a brown printed mark reading BEACON HILL by Hostess Tableware STAFFORDSHIRE MADE IN ENGLAND IRONSTONE. The group also contains a large cream-glazed earthenware potpourri jar with a pierced lid and applied floral decoration, bearing a white label printed Shobrook & Co. 191 Plymouth. Several white bone china teacups and saucers are present, decorated with rosebud patterns and gold-gilt fluted rims; one cup has an adhesive label marked 1833c. The collection further features three small decorative dishes: one depicting three blue birds, one with a brown transfer-printed equestrian scene, and a two-handled brown-glazed dish. This lot comprises the ceramic items only; the Star Wars related objects and other shelf contents shown are not included.
Condition report:
The ironstone tea wares appear in good used condition with minor surface wear to the floral transfers (photo 1). The gold-gilt highlights on the rosebud patterned cups show light rubbing, particularly to the rims and handles (photo 2). The large potpourri jar exhibits small chips to the delicate applied ceramic flower petals on the lid (photo 3). There are no obvious hairline cracks or large structural chips visible in the provided images.
