A collection of feline themed artworks and prints including examples by Anne Webb, Warwick Higgs, and Sheila Tilmouth. This lot comprises four framed works of varying media and feline subjects. The first is a portrait of a long-haired black and white cat, executed in pastel or coloured pencil and signed in red script ‘Anne Webb’ to the lower right. A print by Warwick Higgs, titled ‘THE OWL & THE PUSSY CAT’, depicts an owl and a ginger cat perched on a mossy branch, with the title and artist’s name printed below the image. A third work is a print by Sheila Tilmouth, titled ‘TEA WITH THE CAT’, showing a tabby cat sleeping beside a teacup on a lace cloth, featuring printed text reading ‘SHEILA TILMOUTH’. The final piece is a print of a Siamese cat reclining on a patterned rug. The collection is presented in a variety of frames, including minimalist black, silver-toned, and gilt-effect finishes. The versos feature different hanging methods such as wire, cord, and one easel back. A small unidentifiable adhesive label is present on the reverse of the Siamese cat print.
Condition report:
The Warwick Higgs print shows visible foxing and spotting across the paper surface (photo 5). The black and silver-toned frame surrounding the Anne Webb portrait exhibits visible paint scuffing and minor losses to the finish (photo 2). General minor wear and light abrasions are visible to the edges and corners of all frames. No other significant damage or faults are visible to the artworks.
