A collection of board games and wooden puzzles including examples by Spear’s Games and Victory. This assortment comprises various cardboard-cased games, multiple wooden jigsaw puzzles, and an inlaid wooden game board. Included are Spear’s Games titles Scrabble Original, Scrabble Turntable, and Othello Classic. A regional Cornwall Edition of Monopoly is present alongside MB Games Connect 4 and a Parker Trivial Pursuit set. The collection features several vintage wooden jigsaw puzzles, including a Victory Topical Series example and an interlocking puzzle depicting a train, both carrying labels stating Made in England. Further items include The Da Vinci Code game, a small-format Backgammon set by SE Martin, and a red vinyl Dingbats folder. A rectangular wooden game board features an inlaid square playing surface with a dark wood frame. The Scrabble Original box side text reads SPEAR’S GAMES and 10001. The Trivial Pursuit box is marked PARKER and HORN ABBOT INTERNATIONAL. A green-lidded box bears a printed label reading Made and printed in Great Britain by Waddingtons Playing Card Co. Ltd.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition across the assortment. The Scrabble Turntable box shows visible corner wear and scuffing (photo 2). The blue cardboard Jenga box is severely worn with significant tears and adhesive tape repairs (photo 2 and 3). The interlocking wooden jigsaw puzzle box lid displays surface paper loss (photo 1). The Victory wooden jigsaw puzzle boxes exhibit significant age-related shelf wear and some discolouration (photo 3). The inlaid wooden game board has visible surface distress, including scuffing and possible staining to the squares (photo 2). Most other modern board game boxes show typical shelf wear such as scuffed edges and blunted corners. The internal completeness of boxed games and puzzles has not been verified.
